What do I do to fix my credit now? I was left with many questions when searching online for help
. I read a lot about disputing and opening new credit. Even some shady options about a new social security number to build credit on. I don't know about that one. I also read it illegal. Last thing I want is better credit and a jail cell to go with it.
I opted for more green tactics to get my credit back into shape and I settled into a program that helped me dispute accounts and gave me options on how to boost my credit score quickly. I'm not talking about two or three days. That just doesn't happen with credit. I'm talking about thirty to sixty days. I wanted to rent a new apartment and moving under those credit circumstances wasn't going to happen.
Fortunately it wasn't so difficult for me to fix my credit now that I had some knowledge on how to go about it. My credit problems weren't huge. I hadn't lost a car, house or anything major. I simply had a layoff period and wasn't able to cover all my expenses. Late payments and a couple of collections and charge offs.

Lucky for me I knew that was a violation of my rights. Otherwise, a good opportunity like that would have passed me by.
I also did some investigative work on the collection companies to find out if they were following all the required guidelines to collect in my state. You see in some states they have to comply with bonding, licensing and insurance for the state their collecting in not just from the state they operate from.
The last thing that worked really well to fix my credit now was adding me to my sister's credit accounts. She's good with money and her good credit is now also my good credit. She did me the favor of adding me to her account and that account is boosting me up because of her good credit history. That one I never would have though of myself.
