When you face your head and eyes on the target, there is a tendency of focusing and telling your subconscious to aim at a targeted location. A head on makes a longer putting, while a head down will bring you to substantial scores.

Grip In A Different Way - Why is this so? The thing is, a change of grip always does some good. Unless you are already a professional who scores perfectly every time you are in the game. If you have a hard time in keeping the putter on line, or notice that your putts start in a direction other than what you planned, you might want to try a new grip. You can try the claw-grip. The secret to successful putting is in keeping the triangle formed, with your forearms and hands intact during the whole stroke. It also means that wrist movement is disallowed at all times. You need to utilize the muscles in the shoulders and arms, and at the same time control the wrists.
