Flash Alert - It Takes More Than A Positive Attitude To Earn Money Online With Success!

Ok, I was in a conversation at a business forum recently with one of my blog readers

. His name is Chuck, and he is fairly new to internet marketing. He is really working hard to to make money online from home and like many people he wants to make it a full time gig within the next 2 years. In our conversation, we were talking about different strategies in approaching internet marketing and how to have long term success with it. He knows the easy route to go is shooting for the fast free cash with some of the get rich over night programs that pop up today and are gone tomorrow. Luckily, later on in the conversation I end up steering him away from that.Personally, I've had a lot of offline and online experience with making money and sales and marketing. So at first, I just wanted to sit back and let Chuck talk and see where he was at in his overall experiences with being an entrepreneur. Much of what he was talking about had some half way validity to it. But as time went on, I realized Chuck was starting to really sound like a broken record.He kept saying that in order to be successful at business ,and in particular internet marketing, it all was solely dependent around having a positive attitude. He had attended some self help seminar, and one of the keynote speakers he was so fond of was the well known sales guru named Zig Ziglar. Zig, he said, told him that as long as you wake up every morning get out of bed and approach the new day with a positive attitude you were sure as clockwork going to be successful. Although I did agree with him that a positive attitude is crucial in anything you want to accomplish, its by no means the only thing important. (Incidentally, I also doubt that this was the only thing Zig Ziglar expressed was important in success.) So within a few minutes, I politely interrupted Chuck's long diatribe and told him that there is more to it than just a positive attitude. I related my own story and how I approach my own online business each and everyday.Having a positive attitude is the foundation that must be cemented in your psyche to secure long term success. But I said along with a positive attitude you must also have a strong work dog mentality where each and everyday goals are set and worked towards relentlessly. And then you just do the little things repeatedly everyday.One of the BIGGEST downfalls of people in internet marketing is having this incredible surge of adrenalin when they first start their online business. Oh yeah, for the first few weeks they are excited and have a positive attitude and just giddy with excitement of the novelty of a new biz! But then after a month or two the 'business doldrums' set in and things are NOT as fun as they used to be. All the sudden the little tasks that are required each day become tiresome and boring. There is disappointment with not much money coming in! Before you know it, the newbie internet marketer lets everything fall to the wayside and moves on to the next new thing.I have seen this over and over and over again! People just give up, and if they would have stuck it out a little longer they would have found that success.The key to overcoming this and attaining long term success is to learn to prepare your mind and spirit for the entrepreneurial world of internet marketing. I told my friend Chuck that you must have a positive attitude and be excited about the future and the possibilities of becoming successful and rich etc. But along with this you must also realize that there will be days you don't feel like doing anything. Days where you feel like you are working in vain or for no purpose. Or days where it becomes so boring and monotonous you just want to move on to something more exciting. Well, this is really when you have to put on your auto pilot and use strict discipline to do those tedious tasks that no one else wants to do. Write one more blog comment with your back link. Or finish that last paragraph of that article submission. When you feel like your just about done for the day, go back and review your keyword list and do some more research on what keywords you want to add to your niche etc.Its a fact that in every endeavor you pursue the adrenalin rush will NOT always be there! So its so important to be able to wake up each day and continue to do the little things that seem boring and doing them day after day after day! This truly separates the winners from the losers. Remember, a positive attitude is paramount in your online business.But putting your nose to the grindstone everyday and walking the walk is also an absolute necessity!My friend Chuck agreed :)
