Flying Ants - How To Deal With Flying Ants In Our Homes

Flying Ants are the problem of every home owner. They are a nuisance when found inside the house and in rooms. If they reach the kitchen, they can hover over any exposed food or meals. Stop them from reaching your bathrooms and closets. They may not be as common as the other kinds of ants, such as sugar ants, fire ants, and carpenter ants. But do not allow them to disturb the warm and pleasant atmosphere in your home. So how do you get rid of these ants? Before finding out how they can be eliminated, learn a few things about Flying Ants. During warm periods, especially those following a rain or storm, you can expect the male and female ants to swarm. This is the time when they mate and form new colonies. The swarm can last for a number of days, about 3 to 5 days on an average. The ants are not aggressive during these periods. They do not pose a threat to those they come into contact with. But when gathered in a huge group, they can be alarming, especially when they get inside our homes. At a time when we are enjoying a good meal, nobody wants Flying Ants hovering over the dining table. They can fall on your plate or bowls of food, ruining the entire meal. In case you are outdoors, you do not want to spend all day getting them off your hair, your clothes, or any exposed skin. To get rid of these ants, you can use an insect spray. You can also create a homemade spray by mixing vinegar and water, or even just water and soap. Spray them directly towards the ants when they are indoors. It would be easy to eliminate them altogether when in a huge cluster, than if the Flying Ants have spread to different parts of the home. If they are replaced by another cluster the next day, check the surrounding area of your house for an ant colony. You have to destroy the source or nesting ground in order to get rid of them completely. Look for insecticides that you can use to destroy ant nests. You might want to contact a pest control company for assistance. Aside from getting rid of the ants, you can also ask ways to prevent them from building a new colony within your immediate surroundings. After being able to get rid of Flying Ants, make sure to thoroughly clean the areas of your house, both indoors and outdoors.
