Football Shoes Cleats
In the game of football, everything starts with your feet
. Speed is an equalizer in the game. Being able to stay on your feet at all times and have proper support throughout all of your movements can allow you to succeed. When you choose the most reliable shoes, several factors should come into play. You should not just pick a shoe because you like the way it looks. Most experienced players wear the same brand of shoe for their entire careers because they feel comfortable with the performance of their shoes.
Height
Your shoes have to support not only your foot, but your ankle as well. For some players, ankle support is vital because of recurring injuries. Generally, there are three heights available for cleats: low-, mid- and high-tops. Based on your own history and the needs of your position, you should choose the shoe that will give you the most consistent support while maintaining comfort and freedom of movement.
Weight
Shoe companies are using new material to build shoes. The height of the shoe figures into its overall weight, but the most important factor to the weight of the shoe is the material that it is made of. While all shoes include leather, several companies are making shoes with mesh material throughout all parts of the shoe except the sole. This mesh is lightweight as well as breathable, keeping feet cooler and allowing for more freedom of movement. However, such shoes offer little protection to the top of the foot if you're stepped on.
Type of Cleat
Performance on the field is dictated by the ability to plant and accelerate, and the cleats on your shoes can aid or impair this ability. Simple, rubber, molded cleats are the easiest to care for and most reliable on all surfaces, but do not provide the traction in certain conditions that detachable cleats offer. While detachable cleats require a great deal of maintenance and replacing, they are often longer and perform at a higher level in wet conditions or on natural grass.
Cushion
Some shoes are painful to run in. This is caused by a lack of cushion, typically over the balls of the feet, where two cleats are placed to increase traction. Because a majority of our weight is on the balls of the feet, this area requires a great deal of cushion to maintain comfort. Shoes that hurt your feet will cause you to be distracted mentally and slower physically. However, that extra cushion adds weight to the shoe.
