In order to do its job of elimination, every organ needs certain substances. The liver, for example, uses amino acids and sulfur compounds. Dietary fiber facilitates regular bowel movement, absorbs excess toxins and flushes these out of the system. The problem however, is that there are environmental factors which are beyond our control although our unhealthy lifestyle also contributes to the problem. For our part, we need to give our bodies the nutritional support it needs to cleanse and detoxify.

People from long ago already knew the importance of cleansing and detoxification. They had cleansing, fasting and purification rituals to get rid of the toxins in their bodies. Our ancestors likewise practiced good nutrition by following a good diet during and after cleansing.

While taking part in Pancha Karma, people also took herbs and made lifestyle changes.

The cleansing practices of the past are still very relevant today. We need to provide our channels of elimination with the right nutritional support in order for these organs to function efficiently. Digestive health experts recommend eating a balanced diet that is rich in whole foods high in vitamins, minerals, macronutrients, phyto-nutrients and antioxidants.

Although these changes are small, the difference they make on your health can be significant.
