Ford Figo has given exceptional results to Ford

, the Amercian car manufacturer which now has cemented its position in the Indian market and also has extensive plans to utilize in the market in its favour. As per Mr. Michael Boneham, the President and MD of Ford India Pvt Ltd, said that Ford Figo is an up market product which will fetch them revenues for a long time, but he made it clear that there will be other products which will be launched in hatchback segment. As per him, company needs other products as well to support Ford Figo in the league of the wining products and as a result, Ford India has planed to launch eight new cars by 2015. Ford will use the strategy known as the global platform strategy for India.The strategy includes manufacturing more than just small cars, although small car segment will be their point of significance. Mr. Boneham was heard quoting that, small car market is a major segment in India. He even added that, Ford Figo has touched the heart of the customer. The wait to achieve the due success was of more than 10 years. The company had especially designed the small car for the Indian standards. The company engineered Ford Figo as per the Indian norms, offering a great driving experience, better mileage, fuel efficiency, value for money and above the right price to own the car. To reduce on costing, Ford India has used 85 per cent localized component. As per Mr. Boneham, the company knows that India and China are the upcoming market which will fetch them great profits in the coming years. India has a 70 per cent market for small cars or hatchback cars which is ever increasing and is luring a lot of car manufacturers to invest. Ford Figo was launched in March and recently it has crossed the mark if 50,000 units in few months. Ford Figo rivals have already felt the ripple in the Indian auto market. Maruti Ritz, Maruti Wagan R, Hyundai i10, Nissan Micra and Chevrolet Beat all too have seen a growth of 25 per cent. The confident Mr. Boneham said that, the company will soon achieve a sale of the 100,000 Ford Figo in India. The company is aggressively looking forward to capture the growing domestic market. Ford Figo will also be exported in Nepal and South Africa. With Ford Figo, Ford's other products in India are the mid size and entry level sedan Ford Ikon and Ford Fiesta, Ford Fusion a bigger in size hatchback and Ford Endeavour, the SUV.
