Ford makes India its hub to export to 48 countries

Not restricting its production to North America

, the home land to Ford, the company moved production to India, the place where it makes the most money. India is all geared up for becoming a global small car hub. Auto company, Nissan manufactures much of its Nissan Micra cars in India after the company transferred its production from Nissan UK. Now the Ford company had the same perspective when it established its plant in India for making the popular Ford Figo. And now, the world is desperately waiting to experience the new Ford Figo which is Made-in-India. The auto major Ford has already begun exporting its Ford Figo to South Africa. But now, as per the sources, the company intends to export the India made Figo to forty eight countries all over the world. Michael Boneham, President and Managing Director of Ford India commented that soon the company will be shipping out Ford Figo to new markets, for example, North Africa, South America, Mexico, UAE. Boneham further said that the company began the exports of Figo to South Africa and currently, included Nepal to its export destination. He also added that South Africa has accepted Ford Figo with open arms. Mr. Boneham further added that Ford Figo has been among the top 5 selling cars in South Africa now. The company is getting a great response for Figo there. Figo is also receiving a nice response in India also. Ford Figo is the second fastest car in India to have passed the sales mark of 50,000. Ford India is the sixth largest car manufacturer in the country. Ford India has progressed and developed a lot in this country and has shown its remarkable growth. The various products of the company have fulfilled their promise of being profitable and advanced in terms of technology, elegance and style. Ford India, was established in India in the year 1996. It is a subsidiary of Ford which is the American car maker. In India, the company has got 167 dealerships.
