Fortify Your Home with Home Security
Put yourself in an intruder/robber's position. If you were planning on breaking into a house, what would be the things you would look for to make you feel like you could have a successful go? Many times people have their home broken into and are dumbstruck by how it happened. However, in many cases there are particular reasons that point to why a house got broken into that is more visible than you think. A home security system is one of the first steps towards figuring out what those signs are and how you can protect yourself from intruders, break-ins, and the signs that show your house is vulnerable to break-ins.
When you put yourself in the shoes of a burglar there are quickly things that stick out that allow you to tell which homes are more vulnerable and your chances of successful break-in are more likely. For example, if you are scoping out a home and hear the phone ringing loudly and no one picking up, this could be a good sign that no one is home. Particularly if this happens more than one time it could be a sign that the family has gone on vacation. Another sign that a family isn't home is if there is a note left on the door for the next person who does come home. This is a sure sign that there is no one occupying the home and that a break-in will be more easily achieved. In many cases a burglar isn't look to break into your home to run into you and your family, quite the contrary. A burglar wants to get what they are after and leave without much of a fuss.
However, there are some cases, such as at night, when a burglar knows that a family may still be home but at least they aren't consciously watching over the home. In these cases, a burglar would be looking for easy incentives to break in. One example of that would be the garage door being left open. There is an easy access through the garage that most burglars are aware of. Next, when a sliding door isn't reinforced in the tracking it can be very easy to bust open. A burglar is also looking for good reasons to take these chances and break into your home. One of those could be that they spot a really amazing entertainment system in the window. Another could be if the windows aren't blocked and they see that all the bedrooms (and where people will be sleeping) are all upstairs, leaving the downstairs open.
When you think about it for a minute, there are some pretty obvious signs that make some houses more susceptible to break-ins than others. However, the good news is that all of the above issues and signs can be remedied with a little work and creativity. However, the simply solution to protecting your home is signing up with a quality home security system. Just the yard sign and window decal are enough to make a burglar continue on to the next home.
