Four It Mistakes Too Many Companies Make

2. Not having a strong backup and recovery plan. How often do you back up your most important data and applications? How sure are you that those backups could be restored seamlessly, and what kind of money would it cost your business if you couldn't get those files back?

Those are the kinds of questions that smart business owners and executives ask themselves before they look into backup and disaster recovery plans. Because fires, office break-ins, power surges, hardware failures, and a thousand other risks are out there, it's important to protect the future of your business with a strong backup plan.

3. Paying more than you should for software and hardware. There are a lot of different forms that this problem can take, but one of the most important right now is a reluctance to embrace new technologies like cloud computing. 4. Hiring in-house IT employees when it doesn't make sense. Hiring an in-house IT staff member gives you an employee whos completely devoted to your systems. It also limits you to one person's education and specialties, limits the number of hours that your technology is being looked after, and forces you to pay a regular salary plus benefits.
