Four Reasons To Learn The Guitar

I have lost count how many people have said to me I wish I knew how to play the guitar!

I of course always ask what is stopping them, and then regret asking. I am always bombarded with excuses and just smile all the while wanting to roll my eyes!

If you have always dreamed of playing the guitar, here are several reasons to help motivate you to get started today.

Human attraction

People are naturally attracted to guitar players. Have you ever seen how peoples eyes light up when someone tells them they play guitar? It is a skill many people admire, and is a great ice breaker when you are trying to make new friends, or meet the opposite sex.

As an example, imagine the powerful rush you would get when you are at a big party, and you see a guitar laying around. As you pick it up and begin to play, people will swarm around you and instantly find you fascinating and interesting. Tell me a person who wouldnt love that feeling?

Today anyone can learn

Having to go out and find an instructor and pay to take lessons isnt an excuse anymore.

It is easier to take lessons today than it was 15-20 years ago, with online lessons readily available for anyone. What could be better than not having to leave your home, and learning how to play the guitar? In fact, because of the Internet, many people nowadays who have learned to play the guitar havent paid a dime.

You could become famous

Even the most famous rock stars had to start somewhere, right?

Who is to say that once you start learning to play and get better and better, that you wont join a band and become famous? Even if you just become famous locally, there is nothing quite like the feeling of being up on stage playing your heart out.

Personal satisfaction

There is nothing quite like the satisfaction of learning a new skill and expanding your horizons. It gives you more self confidence and makes you a more well rounded person.

There is also nothing quite like the feeling of being alone and strumming your guitar while you relax. Of course you cant understand that feeling until you actually learn to play!
