Not only does article marketing give you traffic, but also important backlinks that will help you rank higher in the search engines.

2. Email Marketing

You can either build an email list from scratch (for which you will require traffic), or do a joint venture with someone who already has a list of emails. With email marketing, once someone opts in to your list (through an autoresponder such as Get Response or Aweber), you can send them informative articles along with news and details about your site/product. A great tool for not only driving traffic but also building customer loyalty.

3. Advertising

Advertising is the easiest and the fastest way to get traffic online, but also one of the most expensive. You can take up PPC (i.e. buying ad space on search engines such as Google, Bind, Yahoo), buy ad space on a site in your niche, or even advertise on video sites such as YouTube. There are a plethora of options at your disposal when it comes to advertising, limited only by your budget.

4. Organic Traffic

Organic traffic is traffic from search engines. If you build a large enough site with plenty of content and get a lot of backlinks, you will soon start ranking higher and higher for your chosen keywords on Google. When someone searches for your chosen keywords, your site will appear among the results, giving you free and organic traffic.
