One of the first party games that many children learn to play is Truth or Dare. What is great about this game is the fact that no board or game pieces are required, just good ideas. This classic game requires imagination and creative, traits that are often becoming scarce in the children of the 21st century.

Thinking of good Truth questions and good Dares is hard sometimes (especially if many people in the group are shy). If one runs into this problem, one should consult the Internet. The Internet offers many Truth questions and great Dare ideas for the whole group to enjoy free of cost. However, if one doesn't have access to the Internet, the imagination is the next best place to look for great questions and good dare ideas.

Another great girl game that can be played for free is Would You Rather. Would You Rather is a game in which again, no game pieces or game boards are required, yet the game is still fun. The point of this game is to get to know the group better, making this a perfect slumber party game. The way the game works is that one person asks another person a question following this template: "Would you rather_____or_____?" Fill in the blanks as you wish: "Would you rather eat a spider or a cricket?" or "Would you rather travel to Italy or Spain?" Again, if one is short on ideas for questions, the Internet will most likely have thousands of Would You Rather questions all free of charge.

Another great free game that one can play is "Who is Most Likely To?" As the title suggests, everyone in the group must get a piece of paper and pen (usually most households will have these items already) and write a statement to the following template: "____is most likely to____!" Example: "Andrew is most likely to fall out of his bed at night!"

At this point, there are two ways that this game can be played. One way is to have everyone in the circle put their completed templates in the middle or in hat, take them one at a time, read the one drawn out loud, and than everyone in the group has to guess who wrote that particular statement. The second way that this game can be played is similar, but this way there is a winner. Everyone puts in their completed template, all the templates are read out loud, and than the funniest template is winner.

There are hundreds of board games that anyone can buy now in days, but playing games that one makes up is great for cognitive and critical thinking.

One doesn't need traditional board games to have fun at a slumber party. If everybody uses their imagination, free girl games can be created and inspired by anything; and money will be saved.
