With the UK credit crunch taking hold more and more firms are offering special offers
and gifts to attract customers who may not normally be interested in their product. The latest such offering is the event of broadband companies offering a free laptop with broadband to entice customers away from the competition.
With literally thousands of broadband sign ups every day there are a lot of potential customers however with around 10 major firms competing for business in the UK the market is very competitive and broadband firms continually come up with new marketing strategies to keep business from the opposition.
Firms such as 3mobile have now started to offer a free laptop with broadband contracts to attract more customers to their network. While these laptops are not really high end products they still have a reasonable value of around 300 and for a consumer these can represent a very good deal.
There is a slight premium put on the free laptop deals and with contract lengths being around 24 months or 2 years the actual cost of the contract does work out more expensive than if you were to buy a laptop and pay for your broadband separately.
For many the fact that they don't have to save up to buy a laptop and can simply have one bundled with their broadband contract will be very attractive. These offers allow a customer to have a laptop worth over three hundred pounds delivered right at the start of the contract and all they need to do is maintain a monthly payment over the contract term and when the contract period is over the laptop is theirs to keep.
