Freudenberg - we All Take Care Records 3,000 Accident Free Days At Klber Lubrication, Mysore

Mysore, India, December 21, 2012: Freudenberg has set another occupational safety record

, this time at the plant in Mysore, India, with its workforce of 110. The record was set now when associates at the Klber Lubrication India Pvt. Ltd. plant achieved 3,000 days "" equivalent to over 8 years "" of accident-free operations. This achievement is in part attributable to the successful implementation of projects under the Freudenberg Group"s "We all take care" initiative.

The projects under the global initiative testify to the successful realization of a safety concept. "Occupational safety plays a key role at Freudenberg; as a family company we feel a special responsibility for our associates," commented Dr. Jrg Matthias Grossmann, the Freudenberg Group"s Regional Representative in India and Chief Financial Officer of Freudenberg Chemical Specialities. "That is why the Group-wide "We all take care" initiative, which implements and honors projects at site all over the world, was set up eleven years ago."

The high priority given to occupational safety at Freudenberg is documented by the many years of accident-free operation at sites; Back in September the Pune location of Freudenberg Filtration Technologies India set a record of 4,500 days without an accident. That is 12 years during which the present workforce of 78 in production, sales and administration has remained accident-free.

Freudenberg has maintained business relations with India for over 90 years and Klber Lubrication has already been operating from the Mysore site since 1989.One of the largest investment projects in India is currently being realized in Mysore.In the period to 2016, Freudenberg will be investing a total of Rs. 130 Crores at the approx. 40,000 m2site which produces specialty lubricants, release agents and industrial maintenance products from the Klber Lubrication, Chem-Trend and OKS brands for local and regional customers in sectors such as automotive, energy, food and wind energy.

The "We all take care" initiative was launched in summer 2002 during a Freudenberg Group senior management conference attended by 220 managers. The objective is to anchor occupational health and safety and environmental protection even more firmly in the hearts and minds of all associates and managers, thus heightening awareness of these issues. Since then, the ideas and projects of Freudenberg associates have become an important factor. New ideas are constantly being developed, and are adopted and continued under the award process.
