From HTC - The Desire
The manufacturer who's name is on every bodies lips at the moment is HTC
. Having built a solid reputation on the strength of excellent models such as the Legend and the Smart, they look to enhance it further with the release of yet another top quality smart phone in the shape of the new Desire.
Forgetting the wealth of features that are offered by this model, as a standard mobile phone the handset performs admirably. Thanks to the Android operating system which the Desire uses, the device collaborates a whole host of information to make using the handset not only functional but also very pleasing. The phonebook facility does much more than just store your friends numbers. Thanks to synchronisation with Google as well as Social Networking sites a wealth of information from these sources is also stored. Thus, when looking up a contact from your list, the phone will display status updates, photographs etc, as well as the all important contact information. The phones 3.7" screen makes texting a pleasure, and the intuitive text prediction automatically remembers your most frequently used words.
One department where the
HTC Desire scores very highly is its design. The phone is undoubtedly a great looking handset, and despite it boasting a large screen, the chassis remains very streamlined. The handset measures 119 x 60 x 11.9mm which is fairly standard dimensions for a smartphone, however some neat touches make the phone really stand out from the crowd. The bezel that flanks the screen is an attractive aluminium finish and the device benefits from some modern looking curved edges, rather than the straight lines and right angles found on many handsets. The Desires 3.7" screen really benefits from the use of AMOLED technology. This style of screen produces more vivid colours than the more common TFT style. Being a capacitive touchscreen, responsiveness to the users touch is incredibly accurate, knocking spots of resistive screens. HTC have offered users a choice of navigation methods by including an optical trackpad on this model, located directly beneath the screen. When pressed this pad also acts as an enter key. The desire features an ever useful 3.5mm headphone jack socket, meaning a massive range of headphones can be used to listen to your audio files. A micro SD card slot allows for potential memory expansion up to 32 GB. The HTC Desire is certainly one of the more impressive handsets of 2010. A modern design accompanies a great list of features to make this model the smartphone to be seen with.
The HTC Desire and the
HTC Wildfire Black are available now.
