Ft. Lauderdale Volkswagen Jetta dealers impressed by Oprah's generosity
Local dealers of Palm Beach used cars that sport the Volkswagen logo are becoming huge fans of Oprah's "Favorite Things" list this year. The reason, of course, is that Oprah added the new 2012 Volkswagen Beetle to her annual list of personal favorite items. As is the case every year, those items then become gifts for her astounded studio audience.
In traditional Oprah fashion, the famed talk show host surprised her studio audience with a second "Favorite Things" show this year. Throughout the show, the shocked audience received things like cookware, Apple iPads, books and cashmere sweaters. But to top it all off, Oprah drove onto the stage as the passenger in a new 2012 Volkswagen Beetle with none other than Santa Clause at the wheel. But perhaps this is not shocking at all because, after all, none other than Oprah could outdo her own, already over-the-top give away show in its last year of life.
Oprah decided to include the new Volkswagen Beetle in her 2010 "Favorite Things" show because of its iconic reputation in the history of vehicles, especially vehicles driven by Americans. Almost everyone has a memory of his or her own experience with a Volkswagen Beetle and Oprah is no exception. Oprah herself drives one of the new 2012 Volkswagen Beetles and her delight with the vehicle made her want to share the new Beetle with a deserving studio audience.
President and CEO of Volkswagen Group of America, Jonathan Browning, said Volkswagen was thrilled to donate 275 2012 Beetle vehicles to the studio audience after being approached by Oprah. "Oprah Winfrey and the Volkswagen Beetle are two American icons, so when the "Oprah" show approached us with this incredible opportunity to share her Beetle experience with deserving viewers, we instantly wanted to be a part of it," he said. The automotive company also included funds to cover the taxes and fees that accompany the vehicles.
Volkswagen also used the "Oprah Show" to reveal the design silhouette of the 2012 Beetle to the public for the first time. The new Beetle maintains the same notable "Beetle" shape, but with modernized lines and a more substantial grille. In addition, Volkswagen has made available a wide array of packages so the vehicle can become customized to please everything from the fuel-economy conscience driver to the driver that values speed and performance. Mr. Browning said of the vehicle, "Our all-new 2012 Beetle exemplifies power, styling and sophistication, and is an automotive icon reinvented to create the new shape of performance." With these characteristics in hand, the 2012 Beetle will again become a vehicle fit for everyone.
Local Palm Beach used car dealerships will continue to only have the old version of the Beetle until late next fall, as the final version of the 2012 Beetle will be revealed next spring to the public, including those residents of Ft. Lauderdale. Volkswagen Jetta vehicles, however, are currently on sale for an affordable price in and around Ft. Lauderdale. Volkswagen Jetta 2011 models have received glowing reviews and are highly thought of when considering safety and efficiency. If waiting for the 2012 Volkswagen Beetle is not an option, the Volkswagen Jetta is a great choice.
