The engine is a dual overhead cam layout with multiport fuel injection. The engine can be optioned with either a five speed manual transmission or a four speed automatic transmission.

The engine returns fuel economy of twenty-eight miles per gallon in city driving and thirty-four miles per gallon on the highway. The engine deliver its power through the front wheels of the vehicle.
