Fun And Free Things To Do With Your Little Ones

If money is a little tight these days, you may need to cut back on the costly activities

your kids do, such as hockey lessons, dance lessons and summer camp. You will need to invest some time and energy in finding free things to do with your children. Don't worry; all this requires is a little thought and planning. Your kids will not feel deprived if you switch over to activities, projects and outings that are every bit as fun as engaging as the paid ones used to be.

You want to be with your children and you want things to do with them that will be enjoyable for all of you. Structured activities are good, but so are spontaneous unstructured ones. On a sunny day when there are no errands to run and nothing pressing that needs to get done, pack a picnic lunch and head off to the park or the lake. Let your kids run around after you eat while you sit back and watch them being happy children. This simple pleasure and the fresh air will make for a fantastic day!

Sit down and read with your kids. Choose an animated story where you can change your voice to be the individual characters as you read it. In good days, sit out on the porch and read to them. If they have favorite books, start with those first. When it comes to things to do practically any day of the week, reading is high on the list.

When was the last time you took your kids to the museum? If you cannot remember, it is time to plan a trip there soon! Many museums want to encourage inquisitive minds to walk through their doors, so they offer free days. They may also offer special prices for children. Wiling a day away strolling through the many exhibits at a local museum can be a wonderful way to spend quality times with your dear children. There are so many things to do and see in a museum. Point everything of interest out to your kids and let them do the same with you.

Linger in the rooms that interest your kids more, and quickly make your way through the ones that are not as exciting for them. You do not want boredom to set in or they will want to leave sooner as opposed to later. Visit the science room and the history room. Do it all if your kids are having a good time. Move faster if they are not.

Cook and/or bake with your kids. There are plenty of things to do in the kitchen with your family. Choose recipes that you already have the ingredients for so that you will not have to spend any money. Make muffins, cookies or whip up a batch of pancakes for breakfast. Make spaghetti for supper or something equally delicious. Make it a family affair.
