Research conducted by the Coaching and Development Agency for Faculties disclosed that twenty per cent of male graduates now working in office-based jobs are thinking about switching careers.

The investigation found that 62 per cent of those wanting to ditch their office jobs were interested in taking plumbing courses and electrical courses as they were looking for a career in the construction industry.

Graham Green, author of The Career Change Handbook, told the Independent that an increasing number of employees who have become disillusioned with their current career path are not afraid to switch jobs.

He informed the paper : "People regularly get stuck in a profession they suspected was a smart idea when they left college or school, but then awaken to the fact they are not enjoying it and don't really wish to carry on doing it for the following twenty years."

Mr Green went onto say it was vital for folk to analyze information regarding the varied plumbing courses and electric courses on offer before starting on a total career change.

"At the very least, you should talk to someone already involved in the industry who can tell you about what it's really like," he told the publication.
