Fun Photo Projects You Can Do With Your Family
If you want a great way to have fun with your family and take some memorable pictures
, then this article is for you. Find out how you can have fun with your family taking pictures and be able to create some memorable keepsakes that you'll enjoy for years to come.
Photo Outing
No matter where you live, it's always fun to all get together and go somewhere where everyone can focus on what they find the most interesting by taking pictures of it. The cost for doing this is low as it only costs you the gas of driving around and a few disposable cameras and your family will love the fun of exploring new places.
Scrapbook Fun
What better way to share the images that resulted from a photo outing than by creating a themed scrapbook together? Even if you didn't go on the outing, you can make a photo scrapbook of holidays, vacations, special events, or anything you want. Let the kids create picture frames out of construction paper and decorate them with markers or stickers, and then let the family decide which photos go where. When you're all done, you'll have a special scrapbook or keepsake and will have had the fun experience of making it together.
Scavenger Hunt
If you live in a safe neighborhood or you trust your children to be on their own for a little while, a great activity is a photo scavenger hunt. Give each family member a list of objects to find, then let them take a disposable camera out into the world to track those objects down. You can make this activity safer by imposing a time limit - this will make it seem like a race but will also help to keep your kids on task and prevent wandering. Once everyone gets done, go by your local photo store and see who won!
Photo Story
A photo story is similar to a scrapbook, but is a little bit more involved. When you create a photo story, you capture pictures of the special event and then write captions that explain the story. New pets, family vacations, or new babies are all excellent candidates for photo stories, and if you frame each picture with construction paper and use that for the captions you can hang them in your house for everyone to see.
Documentary
It's worth noting that this project can be a bit time consuming, but it is definitely a unique and cool thing to do with your family. First you have to decide on a person to be the subject and then the other family members interview them and follow them around for a day taking pictures to help "document" their life. Like a real documentary, you want to include all kinds of informative and interesting information about the person so each family member can learn a little something new about each other. When you're all done, you can create a collection of all your photos and stories and bind them together.
There really is no limit to the fun you can have when taking pictures with your family. By doing any of these photo projects you'll not only get to spend some quality time with the people you care about but you'll also get to create a photo keepsake that your family can enjoy. With these types of activities, you'll be amazed at the new things you can learn and the fun you'll have together!
