Fun Tickets - Kicking Off A Fun Summer

Fun is a popular American alternative rock band

. Consisting of Jack Antonoff, Nate Ruess, and Andrew Dost, the New York City trio is currently on a fun filled summer tour. The Big Apple Boys formed in 2008, and have released two successful albums to date. This includes their debut album, Aim and Ignite, which featured the hit single "At Least I'm Not As Sad As I Used To Be." Their follow up album, Some Nights, featured a smooth blend of alternative rock and pop ballads. Both albums received stellar media reviews, which helped propel a number of tracks to the top of the charts. While the band is known for their captivating songs, "We Are Young" is the track that secured their entry into the commercial realm. With their current summer tour, Fun tickets are selling like hotcakes throughout the nation.

Fun In The Sun

Fun is all about having a good time. For the band of the same name, this is simply their foundation in both music and friendship. While the band has released several chart topping ballads, "We Are Young" is still considered their breakthrough hit. The song hit number one on the Billboard 100 charts. It also soared to the top of the Digital Charts, while hitting number one on the UK charts as well. This propelled to the band to a string of live performances and appearances. They also scored a number of prestigious awards and accolades over the last four years. This includes multiple Teen Choice Awards, along with an MTV-U Woodie Award.

Fun has also performed live on television to mass audiences. This includes appearances on the Graham Norton Show, Late Night with Jimmy Fallon, and The Today Show. The popular boy band has also performed at Summer-Fest, the MTV Music Awards, and even the Bonnaroo Music Festival. Fun is also scheduled to perform at this year's Lollapalooza in August. According to the band, this will be pure fun in the sun as they take center stage in Chicago. The group also released a You Tube video back in April, which highlighted their new song "Carry On." With scores of fans in the U.S. and across the globe, Fun is known for being lighthearted and simply entertaining.

Finding Fun

From the look of the band, one would assume they've been together since childhood. This, however, is simply not the case. All three members were in different bands before joining forces as Fun. Nate Reuss was part of the band The Format, which sadly broke up in 2008. It was he that reached out to both Antonoff and Dost about forming Fun. At the time, Antonoff was part of Steel Train, while Dost was a member of Anathallo.

As Fun, the three aspiring artists released a demo song called "Benson Hedges." This track was covers by Spin magazine back in 2008. After much praise from media heads and critics, the band secured the services of Steven McDonald. The latter produced an album for the Format, and would bring his expertise to Fun's debut album. With several performances planned, Fun's current tour is sizzling up the summer.
