At one point or another everyone is caught in the quandary of how to market something

, what product to market, how to generate traffic, and so forth. All this can be rather confusing when you first start out because there simply is so much information on the internet that is readily available and, from the point of view of an absolute beginner, you simply do not know which product is better than another. A buy and try routine can cost you dearly and you have not made the first dollar!

Does ranking in Google on page one guarantee its one of the best products? Absolutely not. Such ranking only means that the designer of the website took into account several techniques that are recommended in many search engines. The product may or may not be the best.

Then there are the options of affiliate related programs such as ClickBank, Commission Junction, and a host of other such programs that allow you to join for free and then usually spend your money promoting someone elses product. Youve probably seen this type of information in various sites you have visited. These affiliate programs are free to join but they are not free when it comes to promotion. Thus, one of the drawbacks is that you need to spend money to promote someone elses product and then make a small commission for your work. Many people turn to Google to promote a product but beware, the costs involved could be more than you want to invest. Same applies to Yahoo.

So, what many people try to do is either create a product themselves or get a product that comes with certain legal rights. Such products are usually referred to as Private Label Rights or PLR for short.

With PLR you make a one-time purchase of the product and then have the rights to sell it, keeping the money for yourself. This is generally what happens although the author of the product may put other restrictions, called exclusionary rights, on their product.

As of this writing, there are over 700,000 products available that you can sell and keep the profits from once you made that initial purchase.
