Funny Boxing Personalities Who Pack A Heavy Punch
Funny Boxing Personalities Who Pack A Heavy Punch
Boxing is a tough sport, where two men or women enter a ring, and fight each other using their glove-covered fists. The sport is considered by sporting analysts as the sweet science of sports, because it combines quick footwork, as well as the ability to read an opponent's moves, and the skill to deliver a punch at the right time. Today, boxing remains a big part of popular culture, and among the sport's most recent famous names include Manny Pacquiao, Floyd Mayweather, Juan Manuel Marquez, and more. Here's a look at some of the funny boxing personalities who were a sight to see in the ring, and were also famous for packing a heavy punch.
Boxing Basics
Once two boxers enter the ring, their fists are covered by gloves that are typically colored red, although some modern boxers would like to match their gloves with the color of their shorts or shoes. Each fight, or bout lasts for a series of rounds, usually 12 rounds, and a round lasts for at least three minutes. In an amateur boxing match however, each round lasts for just two minutes. A boxer can end a fight early if he either knocks his opponent unconscious, or if ever the referee thinks the fight is too dangerous for another boxer to continue.
