Getting admission in one of the top most business schools is the dream of every student these days. There are a large number of business schools in India, which are counted as the top management colleges. But, the mere name of a foreign college or foreign education is very fascinating for students. Many students apply for admission into foreign colleges and love to live a life full of independence and learning lessons out of them. Most of the students go for post graduate education to foreign colleges, out of which management courses are highly in demand. GMAT is the first and most important step, which the students need to clear through, to become a part of the foreign management. Graduate Management Admission Test, is a basic test, which allows the students to make themselves a part of the foreign colleges. Students generally go out for MBA programmes, due to the internationally acclaimed status of the colleges and the better facilities provided by them.

Students wanting to do MBA from colleges abroad, need to take GMAT test. Students are also required to have a prior work experience, which basically differs according to the requirement of the college. Every college has their individual requirements for granting admission to the students in their college. IELTS and GMAT, both are needed to be cleared by the students, to apply for admission into foreign colleges. Students need to register for GMAT exam to appear for one. Students can appear for the exams any time during the year, for which he needs to book a slot 15 days before the exam date. Months between September to December, receives the highest number of application forms for GMAT. Therefore, the students applying for GMAT during this period are required to register three months in advance. The duration of the exam is generally four hours, so the students should develop a potential of sitting for so long.

GMAT is to test the communication, analytical, mathematical and verbal skills of the student, which he has learnt in his education journey so far. The test is basically divided into 3 parts, writing assessment, quantitative analysis, and assessment of the verbal skills. These tests have their individual significance, which checks the calibre of the students at differ/rent points. The tests are their, to see that the students have the ability to form a successful strategy and come out with taking admission in the best college. For clearing GMAT, there is no proper strategy, but the students should be clear about their concepts and how do they utilise their time and the assets available. Following are few of the steps, which the students should keep in mind, to clear the GMAT test:

v Proper time management: The students must make this clear in mind that they should be able to complete their exam within the time limit. For this, the students should practise before hand, so that they do not loose the flow and would be confident in completing the test in time.

v The student should read each direction carefully and must follow the instructions given at the starting of the paper. Also, the questions of the exam, should be read and understood properly by the students.

v Nervousness and lack of confidence can land the students to problematic situations. The students need to be calm at the time of exam and must concentrate on giving the right answers for questions, rather than involving themselves in mischievous tasks.

A GMAT score card is obtained by the students, once he is through with the examination test. The scores for GMAT are valid for five years. GMAT scores are valid for taking admission into few of the top most Indian Business Schools also, such as IIMs, XLRI, Jamshedpur, TISS, Mumbai, etc. Therefore, other than the foreign colleges, GMAT students can also seek for good career opportunities in the Indian management colleges.
