The fastest and latest breed of personal computers are gaming PCs

. These beasts are built for one specific purpose in mind, to process data and three-dimensional graphics at an astonishing rate. While these units are expensive to purchase or build, their owners are rewarded with the complete multimedia and gaming experience they provide. Often these devices can display two monitors at full 1080p resolution.

In order to accomplish such a task, the latest hardware is installed in these often self-built units. These units are often capable of processing and creating 51 polygons every second to create 3D effects it is difficult to ascertain if they are real or not. The core of the machine is the processor, which often houses up to eight cores, or mini-processors inside of them. This allows the computer to process eight separate pieces of separate information at one time creating performance that no one has seen in a gaming PC five years ago.

ndividuals look for when purchasing a gaming PC is specifically created for gaming in mind. The first item looked at is a processor with high frequency, core numbers and cache levels. The second is a powerful video card that has at least two gigabytes of video memory on it. Sound cards are extremely important when trying to submerse an individual in game with 7.1 Dolby surround sound. Random access memory (RAM) allows more data to be processed efficiently and in large amounts. A standard gaming PC can host more than 8 gigabytes of RAM. Finally, the gamer looks for excellent peripherals such as a mouse with high DPI, programmable keyboards, high quality speakers, and monitors.

Some gaming PCs have moved from the super powered computer to modern artwork with the newest hobby called modding. Computer cases have gone from dull shades of black and white to colorful metallic paint jobs that are equivalent to automotive finishes. Rather than the sides of the cases being full metal, neon lights flood color out of the Plexiglas that is cut out in ornate fashion displaying the inside of the case.

As the power of gaming PCs has evolved, the heat that resides inside of the cases has increased exponentially. Liquid cooling systems were designed to expedite the dissipation of heat faster than the older heat sink and fan method. Using clear tubes and light reactive coloring, these turn ordinary gaming PCs into futuristic looking devices.
