Using a pond liner makes it possible to overlap over some parts outside of the pond. A layer of sand can be added at the bottom of the pond before the liner is placed there. In order to avoid leakage possibilities, the line should be thoroughly and completely flattened to make sure that all the curves end up covered.

Another essential is the pond pump. This is important to keep the water in the pond properly regulated. For aesthetic purposes, the pump is typically placed in a part that makes it highly invisible. One way to do so is to place the pump between the aquatic plants.

In selecting the water plants for the pond, the main consideration on the matter is the location's climate. For the marginal plants, they should be scattered well enough to provide shade for fishes during the parts of the day when the heat of the sun gets too much for our aquatic friends.
