Garry Belizaire of Old Colony Elder Services Recognized with the "Above and Beyond Award"

BROCKTON AND RANDOLPH, MA...

The conference, which is in its second year, celebrates the partnership between Aging Services Access Points (ASAP) and SWH. All of the South Shore area ASAPs were represented as well as many others around the State. Executive Directors, Geriatric Support Service Coordinators (GSSCs) and their Supervisory staff were in attendance. The conference covered topics such as how to be effective when assisting elders and their families from cultures that may be unfamiliar to ASAP and/or SWH staff.

SWH presented a number of recognition awards to the ASAPs at this event and Mr. Belizaire was recognized as this year's GSSC who goes above and beyond the call of duty.

"As Garry's supervisor, I had a tall order summarizing all Garry's good deeds into a one page document. Simply put, Garry loves serving the elders in his case load and does a phenomenal job. Garry certainly

deserves the award," noted Barbara Kosovske of OCES, Garry's supervisor.

OCES and Bristol Elder Services were recognized with agency awards at the first SWH conference.
