, is a sexually transmitted disease that causes outbreaks on the genitals and genital area of sufferers. Once contracted, the virus stays in the body for life, lying dormant until an outbreak is triggered. Outbreaks can occur anywhere from a couple of times a year, up to two or three times a month.

HSV2 is much more common that most people think. There are various estimates on the infection rate in this country, with some authorities believing the number is around 1 in 5 people currently carrying the HSV2 virus.

Despite what you may have heard, herpes is quite manageable, and sufferers can live a normal life, if they can identify the disease and get the right treatment. 2. Outbreaks of bumps or blisters on the penis or genital area. These bumps can be as small as pimples, or large coin sized blisters. The blisters will most often seep and scab after a few days.

3. Flu-like symptoms, such as fever, fatigue, headache, dizziness and sore or tired limbs.

4. Swollen lymph nodes or glands in the groin

5. Pain or burning during urination

If you are experiencing any of the above, it's possible you could be infected as these are very common genital herpes male symptoms, and you should see your doctor immediately. Also remember that many men will show no signs at all, so if you know you've had sexual contact with someone infected with HSV2, or suspect you may have, you should also schedule a check up and STD test with your medical practitioner.
