Initially a body of practical knowledge concerning lengths, areas, and volumes and finds formulas for lengths, areas and volumes, such as Pythagorean theorem, circumference and area of a circle, area of a triangle, volume of a cylinder, sphere, and a pyramid.
In mathematics, Geometry is come from Greek word geo and metria which means "earth" and "measurement". The geometry is a branch of mathematics with shape; size, the properties, and relative position of figures. In over all science geometry properties are the oldest one. In geometry properties all the particles are concerning with areas and volumes. The geometry properties are characterized for all solids and shapes. Dimensionality
The properties of geometry are characterized by their dimensions as,
- 0D- it has may be length or area
- 1D-it has only length
- 2D-it has only area
- The point has the 0 dimensional properties.
- Points has single coordinate
- The line has 1 dimensional property
- Line has unconnected coordinates.
- Planes such as square, rectangle have 2 dimensional properties
- It has two coordinates
Z-coordinates
- Some of the geometry properties have altitude or depth but the third dimension are also there in geometry.
- It is an optional one in properties. It is named as 3D
- Cube, sphere are some of the solids which has 3 dimensional properties.
- It has three coordinates
Measures
- For each coordinate Measures of values is available.
- They are used to identify the length of the geometry properties.
Collection of Number of Points
- In geometry properties, it may have zero points or more points.
- When the geometry properties are empty then it has zero points.
- When the geometry properties are having values then it has more points.
Length and area
- Area and Length are one of the measurable properties which are characterized in geometry.
- Length posses the characteristic of Line strings and multiline strings which are one-dimensional.
- Area posses characteristic of Polygons and multi polygons which are two-dimensional.
Interior, boundary, exterior
- In geometry properties, interiors, boundaries, and exteriors are occupied a position in space.
- When the space is not occupied by the geometry then it is exterior of geometry.
- When the space is occupied by the geometry then it is interior of geometry
- The location between the interior and exterior is boundary of geometry.
