George Simchuk And His Dedication To People

Mr Simchuk also works as volunteer pilot for the prestigious non-profit organization, Angel Flight, in his free time. He has been volunteering his time as pilot for the conservation group for the past 40 years. He has a degree in mining engineering from Washington University, awarded in 1963.

George Simchuks 40 years of volunteering work have a profound impacts on the poor people worldwide. Angel Flight, the non-profit organization that he has been volunteering for the past 40 years, is a humanitarian organization that helps poor people who are sick. Mr Simchuk volunteers his time and money (for the volunteer pilots in Angel Flight are funding their own humanitarian flights entirely) for the non-profit organization, flying cancer patients living in inaccessible places to the clinics for treatment. These patients are all too poor to pay for their journey to the clinics, and without his aid, will forgo any treatments. He has also volunteered his time and money in the East African region, serving as volunteer bush pilot and EMT, helping various tribes in the region.

Over the decades that Mr Simchuk has volunteered for Angel Flight, he had participated in Challenge Air for Kids & Friends. It is a series of events designed for special needs children. Angel Flight will organize such one day events a few times each year in different parts of the United States. The organization will invite several hundred of special needs children to each event, together with either their parents or guardians. About 15 volunteer pilots also participated in such events for the past year.

As a volunteer pilot for these events, George Simchuk will fly the special needs children to the place of event. He has to complete about 14 flights for a single event, carrying about 3 or 4 passengers per flight, with each flight lasting about 20 to 30 minutes. Last year, the organizations event in the Northwest occurred in Aurora, in the state of Oregon. It is a few miles south of Portland. Mr Simchuk and his family also participated in that event. His wife, her mother, one of his granddaughters and niece also helped him in his humanitarian efforts in that event.
