A digital 3D image will then be created from this. Your dentist will be able to see the filling or crown in three dimensions and will be able to manipulate it easily to ensure that it fits in perfectly to your bite. Once he or she has finished manipulating the digital representation of the restoration, your dentist will send it to a milling machine, where the final restoration will be created. Your dentist will then bond the restoration to your tooth to complete the process. Generally, the entire process takes about an hour.

The most obvious benefit of CEREC is the fact that the entire process is completed in a single appointment. In the past, getting a filling or crown put in would require two appointments. You would also have to wait between two and three weeks for your final crown to be created.
