This visa allows a youth to live and work in the UK for up to two years.

In addition to the age restrictions, there are other requirements that must be met. You need to have the equivalent of 1600 GBP in a bank account (in your name) for at least three months prior to applying for the visa. You cannot travel with any dependents, and you must not have travelled in the UK before. After submitting a biometric scan and all paperwork, most visas are approved within a month.

There are no restrictions as to what kind of job you can have in the UK, and you don't even need a job lined up for you when you arrive. The Youth Mobility scheme is very flexible and ideal for young people who want to travel the country and find a job along the way. You may want to spend your entire two years gaining valuable work skills in the big cities of the UK, or you may just want to focus on travel and pick up odd jobs along the way. The choice is really up to you!

There are other visa programs available for people who don't meet the requirements of the Youth Mobility scheme, each of which has its own requirements and set of standards. There are, in fact, many ways to enter the country for citizens of Commonwealth countries.
