In each season there are different climatic conditions. So you should use different skincare products and cosmetics. For instance, you will need a rich moisturizer to protect your skin, in fall and winter, with the dry cold air. But a lighter moisturizer is better for your skin in spring and summer.

As the weather gets warmer, your skin starts to produce more oils. If you use a lighter moisturizer, you can prevent your skin from becoming greasy and prone to pimples. Another way to avoid blemishes is by switching to a cleanser that is oil-free so the pores of your skin don't become blocked.

If you can get in the habit of cleaning out your make-up case at the beginning of each season, you will be on your way to clear, healthy skin. Cosmetics have a shorter shelf life than you might expect. They are really no different than most products. Once a product starts to age, it also starts to change. So do you really want to put an out of date product on your sensitive facial skin?

Some cosmetic products age more rapidly than other products. For example, foundation should be replaced annually, while mascara is only good for about 3 months.

It's almost impossible to know how long products sit on warehouse shelves before you make your purchase. And not every product has a date stamp on the package. In order to avoid problems, the best thing to do is to replace seasonal products when the season changes.

For instance, when winter arrives, you may want to replace the rich moisturizer you use in cold weather. For those cosmetics that you apply regularly year round, you may want to toss what's left and buy fresh each season, to be on the safe side.

If you just cannot bear to part with that perfect make-up brush you have, at least thoroughly clean it every season. But for any brush used around the eyes, the best thing is to toss it and get yourself a new one.
