Get Coaching Clients By Getting Over Your Fear Of Marketing

I am sorry I just don't know how to say it any other way

. People in service businesses tend to think that marketing is a bad, pushy, or negative thing and it is not. Marketing is making an offer of a solution to a person who has a problem that they have been unable to solve.

Think of it this way, if you are a coach that has some solutions for people who are facing challenges, need to improve their skills, have goals, or need support and accountability and you are not letting them know you have a solution then you are being selfish by not offering to help! It is an offer and an offer can and will be refused for a variety of reasons like the person is not in enough pain yet to seek your solution. They will eventually be in enough pain and they will know where to go if you market to them.

Marketing is good and can be very helpful to many people if you do it the right way. You will need to market in a way that allows you to serve others. Your helpful marketing messages will reach many people that you would never have reached otherwise.

These same coaches complian that they don't have enought clients. They tell me what a great coach they are and how they just don't understand why the few clients they have are not referring other clients to them. Well, maybe it is because it is not you clients job to get you clients! Yes, you should ask for referrals and often clients will realize they do know someone who needs your help but it is not their main focus. Your client's main focus is them as it should be.


If you want your coaching business to grow you are going to have to market it. People cannot take you up on an offer to coach them if you don't make the offer. Many people still don't even know what coaching is until you tell them.

Nothing happens until you take action. Yes, you may take the wrong action, you may not do it perfect, or you could even fail but you will learn if you take action. If it does not turn out the way you want it to then evaluate the action you took, make corrections, and take more action.

I have had many failures, mistakes, and challenges but I have learned from all of them and I have kept going. Now I am achieving some level of success and my income in increasing. The same will be true for you if you take action. If you do nothing that is exactly the return you will get. So get busy and take the actions that are right for you and your business.
