Get Coaching Clients By Staying In Contact
Your name will be the first thing that will encourage someone to open your email
but the subject should be very enticing to encourage them to read further. They must also want to open your email because it has your name on it. If you have been predictable, dull, or slimy in the past people will see your from line and not open your email.
An interesting or intriguing subject line is what will cause a potential client to open your email. A person cannot take advantage of what you have to offer if they don't read the body of your email. Your goal is to provide information that can help the people on your contact list achieve their goals or overcome their challenges. These people want that information and they signed up to get your newsletter so they are agreeing to be contacted by you.
Types of Subject Lines Question- The first key to using a question in your subject line is to make sure that the question is relevant to what your prospect is thinking in their mind. Ask question that will mean something to them and be pertinent. Choose questions like what is the biggest problem you have? Did you know this still works? Did I offend you? Does blank actually work? Do you want blank?
Urgency- Increase the need for the prospect to act now. Create a reason for someone to make a decision to take the action you want them to immediately. Use phrases like...Hurry you still have time, Drop everything and read this right now, I can only hold this spot for the next blank number of people, This offer ends in 8 hours and 32 minutes, there are only 3 hours left, I forgot to tell you. News Story- A news story is something that sounds like it would be on a teaser ad or a magazine cover. News story subject lines have an element of surprise or gossip to them. A news headline could be something like thirty eight year old man did it so can you, major announcement, the world's first blank, major blank revealed, has blank lost their mind?, you may think I am crazy for doing this, blank has lost his marbles, I can't believe she said blank in public. It may surprise you to know blank.
Scarcity- Scarcity is different than urgency because it implies a limited amount. If you don't hurry and act now you might lose out. You have to be careful with scarcity and use generic terms only. Create scarcity with statements like when these are gone I am shutting this down forever, only a few people will be allowed in, when these 13 are gone I am shutting it down.
Your emails will get opened and read when you have a great subject line and you consistently provide quality information.
