If you break up your diet into four steps, you can make it a little easier on yourself. Do all the steps at once or introduce one step every few days. This means they get stored instead and cause the rest of your body to become sluggish.

These foods include all junk foods such as pizza, hot dogs, donuts, the usual suspects. Some you may not expect include other highly processed foods such as lunch meats that contain food preservatives and fillers. Cereals and breads include many hidden ingredients such as high fructose corn syrup. Read the labels for a better idea of what is in your food.


Next, making fruits and vegetables the staple of your diet helps your body cleanse more than any other food choices. They are full of natural fibers, phytonutrients, vitamins and minerals that support your organs, especially those that cleanse and detoxify.

Choose whole produce in its natural form. Opt for organic when possible. These taste better and provide more nutrition than their non-organic counterparts. Try to eat what is in season for even better flavor and benefit.

Eating proteins in the right amount is difficult if you are not used to it. You can try the formula of multiplying your body weight in kilograms by .8 or weight in pounds by .37. Or try eating the size of your palm three times a day. Figure out your proper requirements and shop for organic meats or poultry if possible. These have less fat and more nutrition such as CLA, an essential fatty acid.

Eat unprocessed grains in moderate amounts during your cleanse diet. Such grains include basmati rice, amaranth, quinoa, wild rice, and buckwheat, to name just a few. Practice cooking them yourself and flavor them they way you prefer.
