Get Into The Festive Mood With Experiences Across The Uk

Theres no better way to get into the festive spirit than enjoying activity days with family and friends

. Theyve become the ultimate Christmas presents; no-one wants foot spas and socks for every day of the year, anyway!

Theres nothing more romantic than stepping out into in the crisp, fresh air and walking in the countryside before returning to your rural retreat. The Cotswolds, the Lake District and Norfolk are all popular destinations for country getaways in the lead up to Christmas because theyre remote and quiet. The leaves have turned brown, lining the ground with a crispy and often frosty dusting, and thank heavens the kids are back at school. Hotel escapes often comes with one or two nights accommodation as well as dinner and sometimes breakfast too, meaning theres really little reason to actually leave the hotel.

Of course, not all country getaways have to be quiet; they can be filled with adventure if youd rather. Hot air ballooning and helicopter rides make lovely Christmas presents as theyre a truly memorable addition to any romantic weekend break. It might be a bit chillier up there in the stratosphere, but at least youd have each other to keep you warm!

If youre not quite ready to brave the chillier climate of rural England, then there are always city breaks to consider instead. Whether London, Liverpool or Paris, city breaks away can always get you in the festive mood. Its worth doing some research on whether or not the city is hosting a Christmas market or fair as nothing screams Christmas than walking around a German market with a warm glass of mulled wine between your fingers!

None of these getting you into the festive mood? Then we need to really start thinking outside the box for something even more unique. How about a luxurious ride on a 1930s steam train, where you can meander through the English countryside sipping champagne and swapping presents Poirot-style. Nothing says Christmas more than a touch of nostalgia!

Now, you may wonder why a ghost hunt adventure is fit for Christmas, but bear with us. Whats the most famous Christmas story of all time? Thats right; A Christmas Carol. And who teaches Scrooge the error of his ways? A ghost. Right, so now we have this tedious link sorted, a really fun and spooky way to get into the Christmas spirit (gettit?) is to obviously go on a ghost hunt. Days out and overnight stays are available at some of the UKs most haunted places and would make excellent gifts for those brave enough.

I guess what were trying to say is that whatever you enjoy, whatever is going to get you in the Christmas mood, theres an experience day out there to help. And they are also excellent alternative to boring Christmas presents. They dont clutter up the house and more often than not, theyre different anything your recipient would have received before. If you dont quite know what your brother, uncle, sister-in-law would like, then there is always the option to buy an activity day gift card so that they can choose for themselves.
