Get More Coaching Clients With Outsourcing And Planning
I'm smart and I can figure this out
I'm smart and I can figure this out. That is what a lot of coaches tell themselves when it comes to marketing their coaching business or doing their online technology themselves. Well, all I have to say to that is "just give it up". Do what you do best and pay someone to do the rest so you have time to do more of what you do best and to do what only you can do!
What is the real cost of doing it yourself? Many of my clients come to me with the idea that because they are not generating as much income as they would like to that they should not outsource some of the work that must be done to market on the Internet.
I totally get that line of logic but it is wrong. Look at it this way, if you are good at what you do and you are good at creating products to sell to your niche then wouldn't it be best for you to spend your time doing more of what you do best and what only you can do?
I am great at writing and creating information products but I am not good at putting together a webpage. I am also not good at creating graphics. I don't like doing SEO work so I hire people to do those things for me. Yes, it did cost me some money but in the long run I was able to spend my time creating more products to put on SEO optimized sales pages and selling them. Guess what...that created a lot of income and I was easily able to pay the people that did the work for me.
You have to learn a little about all the different areas of Internet marketing just to be able to talk to a webmaster or a graphics person and tell them what you want them to do but you don't have to be able to do it yourself. The truth is you will probably never be able to do it as well as one of these experts anyway and it will take you ten times longer than it will take one of these professionals. As difficult as it may be to do...outsource all the things that do not directly make you money and can be done by another person who does it better than you can?
The next thing that will hold you back in your business is not haveing a well defined plan and goals.
Not setting goals
You have to have a map to get where you have not been before and that is what goals are for your business. Goals combined with strategies and tactics are your roadmap in business. If you are new to working on the Internet, I suggest that you only set three month goals because you have a lot to learn and your business will change quickly. You may also change your plans once you see the power of the Internet.
Your goals need to be simple. They should be things that you can clearly define and are not too big of a leap. Your goals need to be quantifiable or measurable. I want to make a lot of money is not a measurable goal. I want to make $5,000 a month is a measurable goal. Your goals should be achievable. If you set your goals too high and you don't even come close to achieving them then you will quickly become disappointed and give up. Your goals need to be reasonable for your business and they must be timely. Timely means you must set dates for progress check points and completion.
Here is the good news if you avoid these mistakes and work hard you can succeed beyond your wildest dreams on the Internet. This is like a new frontier for the service industry and you are getting in at the early stages.
