Get Organised With Kitchen Storage Pieces
If your kitchen has become a cluttered mess, think about using kitchen storage pieces
to help you get back to a well-organised, functioning kitchen.
You do not have to spend a lot of money on kitchen storage to tame your pantry and cabinets. There are a lot of inexpensive items you can pick up to help you organise your kitchen storage. Consider an over the door rack for your foil, plastic wrap and other paper items. Purchase modular air tight food storage pieces to store items such as flour, sugar, pasta and cereal. Most are clear which makes it easy to see what you have in them and they can be stacked which will give you more space.
In your cabinets, think about installing cup hooks for your coffee cups. This will get them off of the shelf and allow you to store something underneath them. Also consider plate racks for your dinner and salad plates. Store your shallow items such as cutting boards, cookie sheets and platters upright.
The purchasing of different sized bins to help keep your silverware drawer neat and organised is another great way to improve kitchen storage. You can find small ones to hold things like bread ties or square larger ones to hold measuring spoons. You can find wooden bins or mesh bins and there are lots of different sizes to choose from so you can customise your drawers exactly how you want them.
Keep your counter tops as clear as possible and only store items you use every day on the counter. Consider a pretty bread bin that matches your decor to store your loaf of bread. It will look pretty and give you more room in your cabinets or pantry.
It is helpful to store your items near the spot where you use them. For example, store your pots and pans close to your stove. If you are limited on your cabinet space for pots and pans, consider storing them on a rack hanging from the ceiling.
If you have a hutch or pretty free standing cabinet, use it to store your cookbooks or seasonal dishes and appliances that you only use occasionally. You could also store your extra dish towels as well as table cloths and cloth napkins here.
Keep an open mind when you are browsing through the kitchen section of your favourite local retail store or on the internet. Many items can also be used elsewhere in your home. For example, the mesh trays for silverware drawers could be used to hold crayons, pencils or pens. Ice cube trays can be used in a drawer in your bedroom or bathroom to hold earrings or other small pieces of jewellery. The clear food storage modular pieces could hold beads or other crafting accessories.
The kitchen is probably one of the most used rooms in a home, so why not spend a little bit of time and money to make the most of the space that you have. There are really so many great, affordable kitchen storage pieces available in stores and online to help you do an easy, quick clean up of your kitchen.
