Get Outdoors In North Norfolk!
Those staying in hotels in North Norfolk have got plenty of reasons to get outdoors
. For starters, there are all sorts of towns and villages that are well worth a visit, from the bucket and spade resorts of Wells, Sheringham, Cromer and Mundesley, to picturesque places such as Morston, Blakeney and Cley
Morston and Blakeney are famous for their seal trips - motorised dinghies that take groups of visitors out on the water to see the seals basking on the sandbanks - while Blakeney is also well-known for its pretty harbour bobbing with boats and for the well-trodden walk along the coastline to Cley.
Regular North Norfolk hotel guests will no doubt be familiar with Cley already, as it is a popular stop on the tourist trail, partly because of the lovely delicatessen there (now up for sale), and also for its gallery, smoked fish shop and pottery.
Meanwhile, shoppers should really head inland to Holt which offers an abundance of stores and boutiques, from outdoor clothing specialists, antique shops and jewellers to an array of places for food and drink, including a smart, new ice cream store.
But there are plenty of other reasons to holiday in hotels in North Norfolk, too; this area is home to all sorts of interesting bird species and you can see them all along the coast, from the RSPB Reserve at Titchwell to the large, new bird-spotting centre in Cley. Pensthorpe, a bird reserve near Fakenham, is also a popular place for an outing, and has been catapulted to fame lately thanks to the BBC wildlife programme Springwatch.
But if binoculars are not your thing, you could always take to your bicycle - there are lots of country lanes to explore here, and a vast collection of villages with fabulous country pubs.
And for those interested in history, you can go back in time with a visit to the National Trust's Norfolk properties - Blickling Hall near Norwich, Oxburgh Hall near Swaffham and Felbrigg Hall near Cromer. Meanwhile, followers of the Royal Family will enjoy exploring Sandringham House in the west of the county with its church and lovely grounds.
In fact, there is plenty for everyone here, however active, and enough on offer to fill everything from a long weekend break to a two-week summer holiday.
