But the primary reason most people go for a day in the spa is to relax, regardless of other medical advantages. Unless you make your appointment at a shoddy spa with poorly trained therapists, you are bound to have a great experience, but there are some things you can do to enhance it even more.

It is wise to make at least a tentative decision about what kind of massage will be best for you this time around. If you have made it a point to receive the same type of massage treatment habitually, you may want to take this opportunity to try something different. If the indulgence of a massage is a rarity for you, then you can do some research online about what you can expect from different kinds of massages. You can also compare prices for the types at your local day spa in case you are working on a budget, as there are some that are more expensive than others. I advise scheduling your appointment either in the midmorning, a little after breakfast, or in the evening, before you return home from a long day at work.
