UN certified packaging relates to following the norms related to the first United

Nations Model Regulations of 1957 on the Transport of Dangerous Goods. This regulation was published to protect the goods as well as the surrounding environment.

Gradually between the 70s and 80s, as demand for UN certified packaging increased, newer regulations were enforced. And as per that, only trained personnel should pack the material into the shipping these containers or packaging. As has been mentioned earlier, this type of packaging must be certified by a national competent authority in accordance with UN standards. Single packaging as the name implies contains only one container for example a five gallon steel pail.
