Get Your Colour Combinations Right!

Worried youll get your colour combinations wrong

? No need to worry about that anymore! Home decoration can be a great deal easier once youve got the colour scheme business out of the way. And there is a simple method of getting the combination right too! There are three schemes that you can use monochromatic, analogous and complementary. With the wide variety of colours available for you to use, youll have no problems mixing and matching the shades to get the right combination of paint colour on your wall. These are common guidelines you can refer to so that you dont end up matching a colour with another in a way that does nothing to flatter. The first thing you can do is opt for is an analogous scheme. Basically you refer to the colour wheel, where you can choose multiple shades which are adjacent to each other. The shades are similar to each other, despite being distinct this helps to add a bit of character to your room.

You can have your walls carry most of the colours youve chosen if youre attempting a striped decor for your wall. Toned walls allow you to use multiple colours too. Another thing you can do is pick colours opposite to each other on the colour wheel. This ensures that you have colours that act as excellent contrasts to each other forming a good complementary pair. You can have two three or more colours that complement each other. You can have nearly unlimited combinations with such schemes. The next option you have is to opt for is a monochromatic scheme. The idea is basically that you select a shade and you use it all over your room in varying intensities. The differing intensity ensures that your room appears organised without seeming monotonous. Mix it up by using window coverings, sheets, blankets and pillow coverings in different intensities of the same hue. Things are made easier when you dont have to hunt much you can just pick a series of hues out of a colour palette.

But when youre decorating and picking colours, remember to take inspiration from your current belongings. Its much easier to pick a decor depending on the accessories than to pick out accessories to match the decor. It is also considerable cheaper. If youre still confused about the shades to use or have too many clashing accessories, then just stick to classic schemes like cream or white walls. They tend to match with pretty much everything, so are a safer bet.
