Tip 2: Pick an attention catching headline. - A little headlines are outrageous, but they are so for one reason - to catch your attention. So if your headline doesn't stand out, you are at the losing end. Remember, there are thousands of links competing for attention. So why should yours stand out and get votes? Think hard.

Tip 3: Going back to your readership base. - If you need a strong readership base, you need a very good chance of getting votes. All you need to do is to write a blog post, broadcast it to your existing readers, and wait for them to vote. Ever visit blogs with an RSS feed counter that says something like "10000 readers"? These blogs need collected the email addresses of their readers. Whenever they write a blog post, their readers get an email automatically. They then come to site and start voting!

Tip 4: Ask for the vote! - If you want votes, simply ask for them! How many times can you ask without sounding too naggy? You never want to chase your readers away.
