When spring approaches and the sun come out many drivers starts lusting for that cabriolet they never seem to be able to justify buying. For many people buying a cabriolet means buying something expensive such a Porsche Boxter or a Mercedes SLK but for those with smaller pockets why not consider something like a Peugeot?

Buying a car such as a Peugeot 206 Coupe Cabriolet will be an inexpensive way to get your hands on a cabriolet as well as having a car you can enjoy in the winter months. A used 98-09 model can cost you as little as 1,500 while in comparison a used Mercedes-Benz SLK will set you back at least 9,000.

Other less expensive convertibles to look at are the Saab 9-3, the Toyota MR2, the Mazda MX-5 and the Peugeot 307 CC. The Saab is a four-seater convertible as opposed to the Peugeot 206 which has only two seats and thus makes it more desirable if you want to take more than one friend out for a spin in the sun. The Toyota and the Mazda also only come in two-seater options but are both said to be fun cars to drive. The Mazda MX-5 is a firm favourite amongst car enthusiasts and is probably the car that most people would say is the most fun to drive. But both the Toyota and the Mazda suffers from flimsy hoods and won't be as suitable as the Peugeot 206 or 307 for winter driving. The 307 has four seats as opposed to the 206 which has only two.
