When I first started internet marketing a few months ago I didn't even know what SEO stood for or why I needed to be on the first page of google. SEO stands for search engine optimization. In laymans terms that means getting your website content to rank as high as possible when someone searches for keywords in your content. Did you know there are tools that can help you get your content ranked in the very first spot on Google.
Why would you want on the first page of Google anyway?
Well when someone searches for a particular keyword and the search results come up, chances are they are going to click on one of the first few results that they see. If your website is in the first page of Google that means more traffic to your website. The second page and so on gets a lower percentage of clicks. The more traffic to your website, the more money you make.
There are different ways to get your website on the first page of Google.
Pay per click is one way. This is where you pay a certain amount of money every time someone clicks on your link. If you do not know what you are doing this can get very costly.
To get on the first page of Google you have to know what google likes.
Google likes videos a whole bunch, videos are one of the easiest pieces of content to get on the first page of Google.
Having your keyword in your title, and having lots of keywords in your article.
Google doesn't like external links so putting "rel=nofollow" in your HTML code after your web address helps with that problem. (Don't ask me what it does or how it works) all I know is it works. I don't know how electricity works but I use it. It would look something like this www.domain.com"rel=nofollow"
Also having links to another page on your website is good will help get you on the first page of google.
Google likes having H1, H2, and H3 headings with your keyword also.
