Getting A Superior Nail Coat Quality With Nail Gel Colors

One of the most frustrating things about using acrylics on nails is that they look great for less than a day, before they begin to crumble. Trying to get the best look for a party or vacation requires getting the timing right and being careful with the hands. Simply swapping the type of varnish used with a gel-formula will mean nails that look salon-fresh for weeks, regardless of how they are treated.

A coat of regular nail paint will last, at best, for a couple of days before necessitating a touch up. The corners of the nail that sustain the most impact will nearly always disintegrate before too long. Particularly with darker colors, gaps in the coat show up obviously and compromise the whole nail. Removing the color and starting again can be a long job that many people don't have time for. The solution is to use nail gel polish which can be painted on once, and relied on for two weeks not to come apart or show signs of damage.

Because of the way acrylic paint is made up, it sets very quickly at room temperature and soon becomes brittle enough to flake off. Gel polish, on the other hand, will set under UV or LED light, the gel being so strong that it does not peel or smudge off with varnish remover. The method needed for removing gels is to soak them for a short while in acetone. The good news from this is that jobs such as cooking, washing dishes and frequently cleaning the hands will not compromise the integrity of the coat. People can also be confident that their nails will look great in time for the next big event.

There are more designs and colors that can be achieved with nail gel colors. The varnish is put on with a brush, and each coat is dried or 'cured' under the UV or LED light. Much like oil paints, the nail artist can take time to blend and work into the colors before setting them. Traditional nail paints do not have this flexibility as they dry within moments of coming out of the bottle. This widens the scope for prettier and more brilliant color designs when using gels.

The only argument for acrylics is that they can be applied without going to a salon, but gels can still work out cheaper. Gels do not require any of the touch-ups, re-applications and additional treatments once they are on, so it can be weeks or even months between each visit. The only time constraint is that they will show re-growth, so they can be left for as long as is needed.
