Depending on the instrument, they can cost a pretty penny. You can buy musical instruments in used condition as well which is a great idea since you might still change your mind after a month of tiresome practice. Shopping at garage sales or thrift stores can get you want you want at a fraction of the price. And you can always get that Yamaha baby grand when you can at least play Beethovens fifth without missing a note.

Another option is to go to an online musical instrument store. These places have great deals on certain instruments and you just have to be at the right place at the right time to get a fantastic violin for half off. So if you are just starting to learn an instrument, it doesnt take a lot of money to get started. If you stick to it, you will be rewarded.
