Getting Over Someone

After the shattering break up with my ex, my first instinct then was to recover as quickly as possible

. I scoured the internet for tips and advices to help me move on. I busy myself with all sort of stuff, and I always badger my friends to hook me up with a date. I faced everyone with unfailing smile, and pretended that everything was ok. I mustered the courage to stop crying at night, and not act on my impulses to contact my ex. I rebuked myself every time I caught myself daydreaming about the good times I had with my ex. I did everything to kill the pain and to eventually get over my ex. Although at the back of my mind I know that I was just pretending, and I was just faking it".

Until one day I wake up and realized I"ve moved on. It worked!

There is a saying that "you have to fake it until you make it." The concept holds true to getting over someone. You might think at first that your efforts in trying to remove someone from your life is futile, and that pretending to yourself and to people around you that is not a good way to get over your ex"think again. In essence, when you are feigning recovery, you are conditioning your mind to accept it as a fact. And eventually you will recover. They say there is a science to all of this, but no matter, it worked for me. Busying yourself with little things, controlling your impulse, and making yourself available for future relationships by dating other people are the best ways to get over someone. They may take days, or weeks, or months of getting used to but you will ultimately get there. Fake it "til you make it!
